Shift lock switch V70-XC70 1998

The switch on the 850 was on the passenger side, just to the right of the shifter and down. You might access it by lifting the console enough to see it.

Slide the cover under the E brake handle to the left to take that plate off. Pull the boot off the E brake handle.
Lift up the center arm rest. You will see a trap door on the bottom. Use a flat bladed screwdriver to pop it up.

Remove the 2 screws and lift. Slowly.

There are a couple of electrical connectors that will need to be disconnected.
