I wasn't offended, just curious as that's a new one on me. Volvos US specs for oil consumption (not the same as leaking oil, but "using" or burning is 1 qt in 1000 miles as being "normal"). Some seapage from the intercooler near the hose at the bottom is also "normal" as well, they all do that also to some extent.

I'd still bet that all they did was tighten the hose clamps (all I ever do), degrease it and tell you a nice story but it's also possible that your turbos oil return o-ring was leaking and they might have replaced that.

That just my honest opinion on as I'm not aware of any other known problems with the condition originally posted here in this thread.

I have yet the need to remove or replace an 850 turbo for internal problems, havent yet since '92.
