Door Lock/Gas Door Update--Temporary Fix?? V70-XC70 2001

Took the car to dealer today--it seems there have been other reported problems like I am having throughout the country. The TEMPORARY fix is: wiggle or massage the front passenger side door lock control button(next to the window button). After doing this a bunch of times the locking system seemed to reset itself, the tailgate and gas door are now unlocked, and the dome light switches and sunroof now work! The techs are'nt sure what is happening, but it may be bad switch and/or combination problem with the computer program and/or something with the remote frequency.--We still had problems with the remote after we got the doors to unlock. It seems the remote will unlock/lock the car when IT wants to. You can stand there and push it for a minute, nothing happens, then five minutes later it will work.

This is a real problem--as noted earlier, when you loose the locking system there is no way to gas up the car! Shy of busting the filler door open.

The car goes in next Friday. They will run the OBD on it and see if any codes show up. Unil then, I hope my massging technique pulls me through!!
