Have you kept current with the dealer software updates? There are quite a few and at least one addresses this problem.

Adding an ATF cooler is not normally needed, unless trailering in hilly country. The current cooler as part of the radiator seems to work fine in 'normal' situations. Beware of being too cold in the winter time if you cooler does not have temperature sensative shut off valve.
