HELP....the transmission died!!!! 850 1994

Well....it finally happened to me. I was driving to work this morning and I lost some gears. Wouldn't shift up or down. The shift arrow started blinking and the check engine light came on. I managed to get her home....but she was limping. NOW what do I do? Where should I take it? We don't have any local dealers, but we do have shops that work on Volvos. I don't know if they do transmission work though. We do have a local Aaamco shop. Do they do a good job? So much for saving 4k on this Volvo when I bought it last Summer.

Any advice?

Thanks.

Annette
