Help! Is the 1998 V70 AWD a lemon? V70-XC70 1998

New to Volvo ownership. Bought a 1998 V70AWD w/48K on the clock all maintenance records.

The viscous coupler in the driveshaft failed ($1,600) Volvo NA and dealer split costs with me as this happened 2k out of warranty (cost of driveshaft alone was $2,200). Now the air pump and valve are failing ($695), oil pump leak ($400), and routine service is $500/10k miles. My average mainteneance cost is $180/1k miles.

We use the car for mostly long road trips to grandparents. I know we are racking up some miles but at 70k we are spending way more on failed items than we envisioned.

Let me know if this seems average or is out of the ordinary as we like the car but question the cost of ownership.
