Engine impersonating a Diesel V70-XC70 2001

Did new control arms on my V70 T5 this weekend (149k), along with 2 right side CV boots. No engine work at all. When I cranked it up for a test run, the engine missed and started clattering like an old Mercedes 240D. Timing marks appear ok (hard to see the crank mark). I've cleared 2 or 3 P0344 CPS codes and 2 P0014's. Starts pretty easy and idles and revs smoothly, just loud clatter. No power if I try to drive it. Good news is there are no more pops or creaks from the right side suspension! Bad news is I can't drive it. Any ideas?

Thanks,
jbb
