Grinding Noise from the rear S70 2000

I have a grinding noise in my 2000 S70SE.. seems like its coming from the rear..doesn't chasnge pitch when speed changes but seems to come on at about 30 mph..some times its louder than others and rarely it doesnt happen at all... today, driving in a fresh snow storm here in NJ, it sounded like a grinder was running in my back seat.. Some times it sounds more like a steady vibration..Took it to a dealer last week and as luck would have it..it didnt make a sound!!... 1st time in nearly 3 months its been silent..

BTW..car is great in the snow!
