A/C Problem S70

Correct, the 2 switches blink 20 times at start up to let you know that the ECC unit has detected a fault. Usually, it is a dirty cabin temp sensor behind the dash.

The AC switch can be used to turn off the AC. If you move the blower speed switch from AUTO to some other setting, other than zero, the blower will then work and the ECC will revert to manual operation.

To clean the cabin temp sensor, try using a vacuum cleaner crevice nozzle to suck out the dust from the small grill. It is the rightmost 'switch', just to the left of the ECC unit on your dash.
