Rust on new rear rotors 850 1997

I just replaced the rear rotors, my first brake job, and now notice there is a lot of rust showing through the wheel that wasn't visible on the old rotors? Normal? Did I do something wrong/omit a step? Should I do something about it? I used a bunch of brake cleaner during the job, if that matters.
