a/c blower fan with mind of its own... 850 1995

The a/c blower fan on my car will only intermittently work, regardless of the settings. Having fan and A/C turned on is no guarantee blower will run. It's strange...Even with A/C blower turned off, it may kick in and run. In other words, it runs when IT wants to. I would like to check the A/C control board. Does anyone have instructions on how to get to this part?
