Re: 5000 miles and check engine S40-V40 2001

Well, it was about half a tank which because of their bizarre gauge is really 3/4 or so. It was a pretty steep slope, but I have done it every day for two weeks with less gas sometimes. I am glad it was nothing major but it is very annoying. I think there should be two check lights - one for emissions/environemental problems, and one that actually indicates a mechanical problem. If they would include a code display it would be better but then the dealer couldn't bill Volvo for the time resetting the light!
