850 96 GLT loss of power uphill, rough idle, better at high RPM 850 1996

Hello Brickboard

I have a 96 GLT 850. It has had an issue with a loss of power going uphill. It also accelerates slowly on flats so it mie appreciated. ght be a horsepower issue. It also has a rough idle. (Almost a put put put) but as the RPM's go up it smooths out.

When going up hill at speed I can gas it and put it in lower gear and the car does fine and gets up the hill in high RPM. If the car goes into higher gear the power goes away. (low end power is gone)

The last night I looked and the CAT was glowing red hot. My GF said a month ago she smelled gas but I have no clue if it is related--- like running rich.

If I gas it facing uphill at slow speeds there is no reaction no high RPM nothing just slow snail moving uphill. If I gas it in park the RPM's go up fine.

I have replaced the MAF and the fuel pressure regulator. I cleaned the fuel injectors. This has helped the idle a little. New air filter. Removed the flame trap. New oxygen sensor arriving on Tuesday.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
