Good News - Thermostat Replacement Tool ALL

I needed to replace my thermostat as it was acting up lately. Right!!! As we all know it is best removed/installed with an extended shaft T40 Torx driver.

I looked all over, both in person and on the web. The best that I could find was Snapon.com. They had the tool 7inch shaft T40 with shipping/handle & tax $35. Right, the darn tool costs more than the part!!!!!

Finally, I found it. AutoZone is selling a set of 3inch extended torx drivers in 1/2 sockets. They are labed OEM Long Star Bit Socket Set. They are T40, T45, T50, & T55. $15 + tax. And it works. I changed mine with a hitch today.

Question?? How much Torque should be applied with tightening the bolts?? Any thoughts/ideas.

Best of Luck

Andrew T. Watson
