new cap and rotor and now a miss 850 1993

UGH...

Just put a new cap and rotor on my 1993 5 speed non-turbo 850. It ran fairly well prior, but they needed replacing.

Went OK. Started it just to be sure...it now has a terrible miss! I've checked and rechecked to be sure things are tight. I thought that maybe the new cap could be bad so I put the old cap back on..still have the miss. I have NOT gone back to the old rotor yet.

I'm reasonably sure I did NOT mix the wires. But the plug cover screws are frozen so right now they're sitting in BreakFree which means I can't double check..nor can I check to be sure I don't have a bad wire...grrrr!

Right now, I'm afraid to replace the cap and rotor on my wife's 94 850...

Suggestions/opinions/guidance..anybody else been there??

Thanks

Tom
