Seat removal for seatbelt replacement S40-V40

I need to unbolt my drivers seat and move it enough to allow access to the seat belt buckle which needs replaced. My Haynes notes in order to access the nuts that attach the seat to the floor the plastic covers must be removed and invariably they will be broken in the process. So, anybody have any hints on how to remove the plastic covers over the bolts on the four corners of the seat brackets without destroying them? Seems like this should not be a problem. Thanks
