Re: Report on SuspensionChanges 850 95

I don't think the shock setting will help actually shift any weight to the rear - just slow body roll and dive/squat movements. The only adjustment available on the Koni's I got is for rebound. Stiffing them beyond the amount need for the spring rate provided by the springs will only result in "jacking down" the car. That is, as the shock is compressed by body movement the shock valving is set too stiff for the springs to be able to uncompress them before the next compression. Thus, the car gets lower and lower until it is down to the bump stops. One way to stiffen the suspension - completely ;-)

I need to find the adjustment that minimizes body roll without creating jacking down. The Eibach springs have a nice spring rate so I can probably get pretty stiff. I need a reasonable compromise between comfort and performance because I really don't want to have to adjust the rear shocks when switching between street and track use. The adjustable fronts will, I think, deliver most of the benefit I'm looking for - I can stiffen the front to minimize body roll on the track and take it back to full soft for the street with the turn of a knob.
