rear wheel tracking S70 1998

I recently purchased a certified used 1998 S70 w/ 42,000 miles. It feels like the rear of the car floats or sways slightly around some turns. The service manager at the dealership asured me that this is normal due to the design of the suspension to allow the rear wheels to track the front wheels to improve handling characteristics. This is my first volvo, is this advice true or did he pull a fast one on me?
