850 Heater Hoses - Which one is top through firewall? 850 1996

Well I forgot to note the orientation of the heater hoses apon removal.....so which hose goes to top and bottom at firewall?

The longer hose goes to engine block and shorter to coolant return pipe.

FYI, I am gutting the plastic fire wall juntion box....taken out the swivel parts with hack saw.

I will then run 5/8" heater hose to the heater core pipes under the dash. I will cut back the aluminum pipes and use hose clamps. I will wrap hose with duct black duck tape as it passes through fire wall box holes.

I think this saves money if I assign $0 for my labor - ha!
