Snow tire question S70

Since my newly acquired 1998 S70 came with steel wheels all around, I am considering purchasing a set of snow tires. Since I haven't put snows on a car since back in the '70's, I must ask, do you install snow tires on just the front axle? If so, can anyone recommend a reasonable brand snow tire for these cars?

I seem to remember back in the day a loud humming sound coming from the rear of my 1967 Barracuda. It was the snows.
