Snow tire question S70

Compelling evidence...for standard tires on wet surfaces. And I agree in that case to mount the better tires in the rear.

However, only one of those clips addressed winter tires. The results were no surprise regarding only 2 tires. Oversteer if they're mounted on front, and understeer if they're mounted on the rear. Overall recommendation was 4 winter tires.

None addressed braking traction in the snow which I think is important to avoid the spinouts you referred to. Startup traction was also not addressed. And in a driveway, you're right, it doesn't matter much, but when going up a hill miles from home to get to that driveway, traction matters.

This is a tough call for me when referring to a FWD car, but I'm leaning towards mounting the 2 snows on the driving wheels.
