Flashing Dash Lights S40-V40 2k

Hello fellow x40 owners.

I was siting in the left turn lane at a dark intersection one evening. Waiting for the green light, I looked at the dash to see what time it was. This is when I noticed the lights on the dash (the ones that illuminate the dials, gauges etc.) were flashing in-sync with the blinker. The flashing is very subtle. I asked my friend to look who has ridden in the car many times and never noticed it. Until I pointed it out.

So I took the car to the dealer and their response was there is a voltage draw from the blinker which would cause the dash lights to dim slightly.

Then came the infamous "they all do that". Quite frankly, I was shocked. I've owned several cars (different make) and none of them ever had this problem.

When I returned to the dealer I asked them if I could look at anther V40 on the lot to see if this was true. Sure enough, we looked at two other cars and they both had the same problem.

Any input welcome...

Thanks

AL
