S70 Opinions-Additional S70 1999

Hi,
Obviously you don`t want spend that kind of money on a car that will be nothing but expensive trouble.
If I may offer an opinion on the move from 240/740`s & your reluctance or at least, ambivalence to do so. I drove RWD Volvo`s from 544`s up thru 240`s & our last 240, a beautiful 82 was getting tired & just couldn`t handle my wife`s daily 100 mile commute anymore. We made the dcision to get another Volvo & I found a well maintained `95 850T wagon. It was 5 rys old at the time & more money than we wanted to spend but made the leap anyway. Initially, it just didn`t feel like a Volvo as I knew them plus it was automatic. After a few months as I only drove it once a week or so I began to really like this 850. We took it on a long trip that summer & before I knew it, I was a total convert.
We just sold that wagon last spring & thru the years we had it the car was wonderful. Reliable, comfortable, fast & a great looking car.
We now have an XC70 which is an excellent car tho` we did have a few EXPENSIVE electronic issues the first yr as we only had the balance of warranty left & naturally, the problems arose after the warranty expired.
Good luck!
Rich
