Issues V70-XC70

It's a simple answer. The XC forum is far less active than the 200 forum. Think of the amount of activity on S/V90 forum on the RWD side.

I own an 850, not an XC, but I've learned a little from reading this forum.

That 2000XC may very well be a fine car, but there are some known issues with that year. The AWD system in the 98-2002 can be problematic. 2003+ models with the Haldex system are better. The tranny software will need an update. The last thing I can think of is the ETM (electronic throttle module) is prone to failure. Maybe someone who actually owns one and knows them better will chime in...:)

Do a search. There is a lot more in the archives.

If you live in the South and don't really need the AWD consider a 95-97 850 or 98 S70/V70. Or spend a little more and get a 2003+. My sister owns a 2006XC and it has been a great car for them.
