Overheated v70 V70-XC70 1998

The crank bearings get hurt when the oil drains out, not when the antifreeze goes away. An overheat is usually the head, valves, and gasket (top end of engine). There is probably no compression. If the oil level is still near the top of the dipstick, the rings might be just fine.

If the turbo ran out of coolant, it might have messed up bearings. I have seen turbos glow red hot and not have problems. Easy enough to check by taking off the air intake hose and feeling the turbine for wobblies.

I thought it was getting too cold for projects.
