Farewell to my XC V70-XC70 1998

I still had the same car a year ago. 98 V70XC. I loved that car. Looked near new until the end. Took it to 250kmi, and then hit a bunch of firewood on the highway. That did it in. It tweaked the AWD. I replaced it with a 04 V70 5 Speed stick. I agree that these later models have a noticably greater output!

I always thought about making a list of the "fixes" that I routinley apllied to my old V70XC. I know many of the purists here would not hear of doing some of the fixes I did, but hey, it worked! and most of the time they were quick and free!

sticking key? I carried a mini novelty baseball bat, and 3 light taps on the shifter handle and they key came right out...

Passenger door snapping? I just unbolted the stay. Fixed. No snap, and the door couldnt open past the catch.

Air pump bad? get a bmw pump, or any other pierburg make, and just switch the covers.

I have already forgotten most of the other quick fixes....
