After having the volvo oem part fail twice within the first 45,000 miles I installed the IPD part about a year ago.

For my car, it was most definately an improvement. I was a bit surprised to read about your problems.

Let me say- the IPD part was an easy install. In over 12,000 miles of driving with it I haven't noticed any negatives associated with this part.

I certainly would recommend the IPD part.
