No GO HELP! S40-V40 1998

Hi guys

I have a friend that has a 1998 S40 2 liter non turbo and he has the following problem. About 2 weeks ago, he did a long trip(300km), and when he stopped to buy some choclates, his car would not start again. After testing various things, like fuel (checked to see if fuel was getting to the injectors..), etc, and did not find any fault, the car started after 2 hours.

Now, it happended again, and the car had to be taken to the dealer, 400km from where he stays on a truck. The mechanic is also baffled as this is the second vehicle that has the same problem. The other being a V70 2001 model with 1000km on the clock. To get back to my friends car, the mechanic says that is seems as if there is no power at the ECU. What can you guys suggest. I'd like to help them.

Urgent!

Regards and thanks

Michél
