Is $250 for Oil Change & Tire Rotation too much??? S40-V40 2001

I hope you read some sarcasim into the subject heading. But the truth is that my dealer is charging me $250 with tax for the 7,500 mile check up. Consdering that an oil change costs $43 and tire rotation can be done for $20 just about anywhere...what will make up the rest? Will I void the warrenty if I take it somewhere else for a rotation? Are the fluids really going to require much more than just being topped off? Will I effect the resale if I don't get all of my work done through Volvo? Please provide me with any suggestions or comments. This seems a bit excessive, but as a first time Volvo owner maybe I just haven't been taken advantage of enough times to know that this is the way Volvo operates. Thanks...
