Volvo stopped installing those panels under the hood because apparently they realized that they were pointless as they had no real purpose (added to expenses no doubt). I wouldn't bother installing them either because they do nothing except get in the way whenever one needs to access something under them. I wish all car manufacturers got rid of all the BS plastic garbage (yes, my opinion) that hides engines because it's an engine and should look like an engine. There's a hood over it all that's suppose to keep the stuff covered too and most of our customers never open it anyway. How do I know that most of these people never open their hoods? Because they'll drive for miles to have us diagnose why their low fluid lights are coming on, like washer fluid, coolant and brake fluid.
