MAF Sensor causes check engine light on V70-XC70 1998

With a salvage yard, you never know what you are going to get. Sometimes you get lucky and get a clean part.

FCP Groton has them for $165 (OEM). AutohausAZ has them for $180 or a generic for $92: http://www.autohausaz.com/search/product.aspx?sid=pyfbvh45haxaed45arv2mgun&pn=W0133-1600936,W0133-1660572,

Because you are on a tight budget, go to a P&P and remove a couple. Take only the cleanest one and try it. Remember, the MAF part number must match what you have on your car.

Be sure to check for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold and verify the air hose from the filter to the throttle body is not cracked, or the one to the turbo, if yours has one of those.

Good luck,

Klaus
