Price on Volvo VIP (extended warranty) S40-V40 2001

I'm really interested in getting the extended warranty and I finally got a quote from my dealer (they don't sell it much). The one I'm interested in is the 125000mi/6yr comprehensive with $100 deductible (that's the only choice now for deductible according to the VIP application form). So they're selling it for $2100. Is that right? He said they normally price it at $2500 but that he'll go $2100 because he'd originally quoted me about $1400 and that that was a mistake so the lowest the dealership allows to go with enough profit for them is about $2100 since he said their cost on it is about $1800.

I am confused though, because when you fill out the 10-month payment form it's Volvo that is drafting your Visa or MC at 1/10 the price of the contract, not the dealer. So does Volvo then pay back the dealer the profit they built into it? That's an odd arrangement.

Any help with this will be appreciated. Also if there are any sales folk or managers from Volvo dealers reading this I am especially interested in your thoughts. I want it and would like a fair price and over $2000 seems high.
