They work. But, it better be warm out, you don't want to even try doing it under 60F. The surface has to be super clean, alcohol is required. Make sure the switches are not covered in case a switch breaks and you need to replace one - pretty hard to pry out when an edge is covered in contact cement.

Once the 'wood' has been applied, never try to remove it.
