98' V70 Transmission hesitation... V70-XC70

Purchased a 1998 V70 in November of 2010.

Flushed the transmission in July of 2011 at 127214 miles. Do not believe that I'm the first to change it, but then again one never knows with used cars. Fluid looked brown, but not black and did not smell burnt. Did not drop the pan, just flushed like I flush my 240.

Car appeared to run fine up until November 12, 2011.

Noticed that the car, when cold, would not reverse at all or very slowly to move and then going forward it was very sluggish and unresponsive.

Since then my wife, who is the normal driver has had several situations, like sitting at a light and waiting for it to turn or making a right hand turn on red where the car will either not move or start to move and then stop only to start back up again within a short amount of time.

So what is the consensus out here as to what is going on???

I read several posts or think I have about replacing the PNP or cleaning it and quite possibly there are bad solenoids in the transmission. The only question here is where is the PNP and solenoids that FCP sell located on the transmission??? I've looked in my Haynes manual and well, it is completely useless.

Your thoughts and suggestions are all welcome as I need to resolve this problem before my wife has an accident that is not her fault.

Best regards,

Matt
