extended warranties V70-XC70 2008

Question applies not only to my 2008 XC70 but to my 2007 S60 AWD. Both have around 45K miles. A factory-sold extended warranty for both cars would be about $5,000. We have had no significant problems with either car but my 70 is the first year of the current design with the six-speed.

Are these warranty costs worth it? They're cheaper than a new car. Thanks to all.
