v70 clunkin sound

Been busy with my 2000 v70 this week (don't ask) and realized that the engine shifts forward and back an inch or more when i shift into and out of gear... looking first at the upper engine stabilizer i find the bushing soft and pliable but it is noticeably loose. i can move the arm from the firewall right and left with about 1/4 inch of play , and when i push on the mount (not very hard) i can move the engine back and forth fairly easily .... is this kind of a semi static mount like nothing else i've ever seen , or is this one trash and in need of replacement?

i cant find any pictures of what it should look like installed correctly does anyone have experience with replacing this stabilizer?

i've also developed a rattling that comes and goes and sounds like a diesel truck, like a heat shield or something .. i figure the shifting motor may have helped something else loosen up?... and i base that on absolutely nothing...
