Brake grinding, at a loss now 850 1997

I've been having an issue with the brakes grinding when coming to a stop. Posted here before and have since performed the following maintenance to try and eleviate this annoyance.
These made no difference, after a few miles
Put on stock brake pads from Volvo.
Had rotors turned (noise returned after 50 miles)
replaced front rotors (noise returned after 100 miles)
replaced all four wheel bearings (thinking excessive heat might be the cause)
100 miles later, grinding again.

I'm seriously considering either sanding down the pads a bit, or replacing them. I realize that it is probably normal behavior, but after 200k miles on this excellent vehicle it is frustrating that it would start after so many miles.
