A/C issues 850 1996

Been trying to figure this one out.

Put a/c unit on the other day. Outside temp was in the 50's a/c seem to be running cool and kicking on about every minute. What does that mean?

Ran a/c again this time outside temps where in the 70's a/c seemed to be running, but no cool at all and kicking on about every minute or so. What does this mean?

Ran a/c yesterday this time outside temps where in the 90's, a/c seemed to be trying to run, but all I got was extremely hot air, not cool at all. The a/c pump sounded like it was trying to kick on every minute or so. What does this mean?

What needs to be addressed here and how?
