191995 850 Turbo sedan - upshift light continuously on without the check engine light on 850

A couple of days ago, while our 1995 850 turbo sedan was stopped with its engine running, the orange upshift light came on and stayed continuously on, while there was no check engine light on. That continued for the following 30 minutes, and it felt like the car would not get into the 4th gear after a while (I say 'felt like', because I was driving in downtown Chicago with a lot of traffic; therefore, there were a few chances that the car could get into 4th gear). Any ideas on what may have happened or what may be coming up? Thank you.

The 1995 850 turbo sedan has 200k+ miles and purchased new by us ~18 years ago. It has been a great car so far.
