is the 2000 (only) V70/S70 motor the same in the base and the SE models? V70-XC70

We have a 2000 v70 SE and love the ride and power of the motor and have a 98 v70 base, but hate the ride and the power. So, we're thinking about getting rid of the 98 and buying another 2000, but are wondering if the 2000 v70/s70 motor has the same power in the base and the SE. We are only interested in the 2000, not the 2001 or 2002.

Any thoughts?
thanks!
