I'm glad to hear that you and your son are not injured.

My car was rear-ended and had serious structural damage. The body shop did a wonderful job. True, the car is not the same.

Specifically, some of the tolerances are not quite as tight and the paint is not blemish free as from the factory. On the other hand, the car feels just a solid and safe as before--no wind noise, water leaks, rattles, etc. The ride is as supple and the handling just a precise.

So, for me, having a vehicle whose quirks are known is worth the trade-off of a few dirt specks and +/- 1 millimeter tolerances.
