weird oil leak....valve cover V70-XC70

Took the car to my new favorite independent (just found the shop, SE Michigan, amazing guy... Thomas) and found an oil leak from underneath when it was on the lift. Hadn't noticed until now. It was coming from the top of the engine.

I pulled the plastic cover off the head and found dark oil pooled in the recesses of the valve cover but...........no source of a leak.

I sucked out most of it with a syringe. Got about a half-ounce, maybe a little more.

I pulled three coils off the plugs and found a little bit of oil in only one, the other two were dry. I have to go back in to find out where the leak is coming from, and I'll pull the plug and clean it then, and check the other two cylinders. Is leaving the little bit of oil in there cause for concern? Anyone have any ideas where the oil is coming from?

I thought I might have overfilled, not likely, but it wouldn't figure because the oil wouldn't be dark. I've always used 10w-30 Mobil 1 in this car.

2004 na v70, 230k miles
recently changed plugs, timing belt service, front suspension components replaced
car was also damaged by on-road debris, insurance paid for radiator and condenser and minor damage
