1999 VOLVO S70 GLT camshaft timing issues S70 1999

Hi,
I'm stumped.
I have a 1999 Volvo S70 GLT.
17 year old daughter overheated it, blew a valve.

I rotated the crankshaft to align all timing marks before disassembly.
the crankshaft was lined up with its mark and the camshafts were spot on the plastic cover marks.

I brought the head to the local "guy" that seems to do most valve jobs in the area.
I brought the head, camshafts, and the valve cover. The sprockets were still attached to the cams.

I picked it up the next day and the sprockets were removed from my camshafts with no markings and no way to realign the sprockets to the cams. I asked and the guy said if I had a book it would tell me. (thanks)

Okay, the intake was easy. my book says the slots on the cams are horizontal and parallel to the upper section and offset with the centerline. The intake cam slot is above the centerline and the exhaust is below. I locked them in place with a home made piece of angle iron that I notched out to fit.

The intake camshaft sprocket has 3 bolts of which 2 need to be above the centerline.
The exhaust sprocket only has one center torx 55 bolt on the VVT

Now on the rear of the exhaust camshaft is a small notch for the camshaft sensor.

With the slot parallel does this notch in the exhaust camshaft go above or below the centerline?

Also my book does not explain the proper procedure for installing the VVT exhaust sprocket.

I locked the rear of the cams parallel and locked the front sprockets to match the timing marks, tightened it down, properly installed the belt... turned the crankshaft 2x clockwise, everything matched. but something is wrong.
It barely runs, and is rough at best.

Code P0300
Random/Multiple
Misfire Detected

Plugs are also saturated with fuel.
Compression check is 150psi in 1,3,4,5 cylinder. and 140psi in #2

I understand that because of the way I put this together that every time I rotate the crankshaft twice I will have everything align but the vvt with the center bolt and no keyway is just a headache.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks...
Tim
