Question for Klaus re:V70 T5 engine number V70-XC70

Hello Klaus,

For years, I've looked for your answers on Brickboard, when we had issues with a Volvo. I'm a bit puzzled by one of our current V70's, and I'm hoping maybe you'll have an answer.

It's an '02 V70 T5, here in the US, but bought in Germany, originally. We need to find a replacement engine. When we find engines, the specs say - any '02 or '03 thru engine #xxxxxxx. Our issue is that, while ours is an '02, our engine number is 50k digits higher than the specified '03. When looking at pictures, it's clear that they aren't exactly the same as the '02, due to fuel line placement. Do you think this is because the car originated in Germany? Should I be looking for an '03 with a higher engine number?

Any advice would be much appreciated!
