With the car I mentioned, the customer just bought it, just spent about $3K in mods installed elsewhere and thinks that it's blazingly fast so as long as he's happy, there's no problems. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, it's just not fast enough for me. He just brought it by us for a few other unrelated minor details.

Your 2WD will be faster than any AWD just because AWDs do rob power compared to 2WD, no comparison. Drive one sometime and you'll see.
