Fuel pump change as preventative maintenance? 850

Your are correct to worry about the fuel pump and relay. I would spring for just the relay and keep the old one in the glovebox.

If your daughter is like mine and gets a fill up when the gauge gets to the 1/4 mark, then there shouldn't be a problem with the pump. There are plenty of 850's with 300K and original pumps.
