oil consumption S60 2001

After purchasing the car used, I switched to M1 0W40 (after getting money's worth of the dealers change that was done when the car was provided to me). I noticed no burnoff during the dealer dino oil interval (3000 miles) that I monitored obsessively, and running 5k mile intervals on the M1 I notice no oil consumption. Oddly, see my recent thread post where I seemingly have two different readings on the dipstick from today (crazy I know).

To be honest, on my 98XC that I had previous which also saw 0W40 I recall very tiny top offs needed during 5k mile intervals. I was maybe to the tune of 1/2 quart in the 5k interval. Mind you, this card had 220k miles on it, small weep from the turbo oil return line, etc....

I may add that my driving habits are 85% Highway 15% City - easier on engine and oil

Best,
Steve
