S70 Year 2000 Clock Spring S70

I am replacing the clock spring (the nylon tabs are broken). I know to disconnect the battery before starting the job. However, some of the instructions I've read, say when reconnecting the airbag, the battery should be connected and the switch should be in position II. Other instruction don,t mention battery reconnect and switch in position II.

Can anyone tell me which is the correct procedure? I understand if its done wrong the SRS light will come on an a trip to the dealer is required to reset it.

Thanks for any input.

Jim
