Well, Klaus, I've pretty much got most of my basic item done on 2000 S70, except for Headlights, Tires, and Throttle Body issues.
You had said that 2004 C70 Headlights should fit....hope you're sure; the eBay dealer's computer says they're not compatible. Indeed, they are not the cross=hatched fresnel lenses, but clear flat glass, and chromed focus reflectors. A bit over $300 for the pair, but now I'm having a bit of problem with hood release on driver's side. Takes two, one working the inside release, and one bouncing the hood up and down, to release it....the latch mounting adjustment seems maxed out at "up", but I'll try putting the passenger side down a bit; perhaps eccentric release is binding the latch, though the rounded catch bar should have eliminated this binding...Tried some spray of lithium grease; didn't help.
Is this an electrical catch with a cable running over to release the passenger side catch ?? There's a wiring running into it..!!....
My mechanic refuses to clean the throttle body. He says trying to clean gummy residue from MM Throttle Bodies ruins them.....reading through XeModo's literature, and their touting of contact-less sensors (no doubt including throttle position sensor, for which we're getting an ETS error code), perhaps the thinned out residues foul the sensors......Saving up for an XeModo unit.
Draining out about half of the tranny fluid and replacing (w/Volvo fluid) seemed to cause very mild vibration when cold for about 5 minutes. Gut tells me that the remaining half left in the torque converter's particulates is washing out from the system. (and difficult-to-get-to filter)... I intend to repeat this every 5000 miles a few times.
Seem to learn something every day...
