Caliper question 850

I did a run to the local NAPA store and they said they had my slide pin rubber bushings. The only issue was the original Volvo (ATE) part has an extended ring at the end of the bushing where the slide pin exits the caliper and is connected to the rest of the brake assembly. So the way I see it I could actually pull the bushing away from the caliper since there is nothing keeping it in place. I hate to go through this rebuild and have brake noises because of this bushing not being right. My dealer has some crazy number for a kit with new slide pins. I only need the rubber bushing.

I thought to reuse the bushing from my old caliper (I assume one is OK to reuse) but have no idea of how to remove the bushing without destroying it. Is there some sort of trick to removing these rubber pieces? They seem locked in super tight.
